This book that I'm reading, Night, is turning out to be a pretty powerful piece about the concentration camps in Europe. (Biography of the author, who ended up surviving and receiving a Nobel Peace Prize and many other amazing awards, much too rightly deserved.)

At the signal, the three chairs were tipped over...

Then came the march past the victims. The two men were no longer alive. Their tongues were hanging out, swollen and bluish. But the third rope was still moving: the child, too light, was still breathing...

And so he remained for more than half an hour, lingering between life and death, writhing before our eyes. And we were forced to look at him at close range. He was still alive when I passed him. His tongue was still red, his eyes not yet extinguished.

Behind me, I heard the same man asking:

"For God's sake, where is God?"

And from within me, I heard a voice answer:

"Where He is? This is where--hanging here from this gallows..."

That night, the soup tasted of corpses.

An answer to 905's earlier question on file uploading: of course you can! There hasn't been a time that we've disallowed it. o_o;;

Just add a file attachment to any of your posts! If you just want to host it (and not list it under your post for download) you can simply uncheck "List". :P

NOTE: This is a crosspost. For some reason I can't delete it. Weird. Anyways, this was just supposed to be on ST_, so... ya. xD

Windows DX (xD)

Yes, I am going to be on my Windows DX more, but that's only because my Internet on my Windows is MUCH faster. I did a test where I went to two pages on both my Windows and my Mac. The Mac went on the second page and not the first, and by the time the Mac was 80% done loading that second page, the Windows was already completely loaded for two pages. I've even had to wait ten minutes for a reasonably small image to load on this Mac. These Macs, though they're much prettier, have many more features, and are way shiny, have WAY too many bugs in them. For some reason my Internet Preferences are in German, and I can't change them back to Japanese or English. Dx *sigh* Plus, the screen on my Windows is HUGE, and it's all working much better after I "fixed" it. :D
So for now, I shall only use my Mac for DivX things, and nothing more. (Except for getting links saved in bookmarks)

Graham Chapman's Kickin' Funeral (A strange post)

I just watched Graham Chapman's memorial service on Youtube. I wonder if that's the last funeral I'll ever laugh about. (It was sad, and really sweet!)

The last line of it is, "I'd just like to be the last one to say f**k at this meeting."

They sure know how to hold a good funeral. o-o (So sad, though!)

(For my LJ-readers (if any), note that this is for my SITE, not for my LJ.)

On a whim (and a near-stab from 905) I changed all the CSS colours (most of 'em, anyway) and images on the site. Thus, it is RED. I'm rather proud of the round corners I did on the bottom of the page, actually. I worked quite hard figuring out how many pixels to take off. o-o

I'm redoing the enter page to match the header image, currently. xD

905 says the Enter Page's song by Orange Range, "Sayonara" is sad and not in a good way. That's what I thought too at first, but unlike SOME people I listened to the whole 5 minutes and I ended up liking it. ^^ You should watch the music video (Japanese knowledge required, mind you) -- it's really bittersweet but very well done for a music video. :D

(I'm not a music video fan, per se, but I like the insane ideas Orange Range comes up with -- one time they all started singing with their heads in televisions -- I couldn't even watch more than thirty seconds it was so bizzare. xD)

Well, I'll post tomorrow. I did a lot of good language (several of 'em) studying today, so that's good news. Well, good luck to you all and a good night at that.
